As we come towards the end of another successful session, I hope that you will make the effort to support your committee at the Annual Dinner and the AGM - both of which offer excellent opportunities for networking and sharing your experiences with your fellow professionals. The full details of the programme are set out herein.
You will see that the Annual Dinner is set for 22 March 2001, when we shall entertain the President Professor Dr Nael Bunni. As has now become the custom, we shall have an excellent meal, this year at The Yew Lodge Hotel, at Kegworth, and we shall have an entertaining speaker, Rod Taylor, to round off the evening. Please see the attached flier and booking form and let us have details of your party as soon as possible.
The AGM will be held at
Have you visited our new WEB SITE yet? - I commend it to you. It is there for your benefit and you can arrange to link your own site to it if you wish. Let us have your comments - there are e-mail links provided for on-line comments.
Should any members like to know more about the Committee's work, or feel moved to volunteer to help spread the workload, they will be very welcome.

CIARB web site
Visit the CIArb web site on http://www.arbitrators.org.
Members can link their own web sites to this should they wish.
The Branch web site is now published and can be accessed via www.ciarb-em.org a domain name which the
Branch has purchased.
The site gives details and contacts for all the committee and Officers, details of Past Events, (along with speakers’ papers where these are available) details of Future Events and a fax back booking form.
There are links to the CIArb
web site and in time we hope to have links to other kindred professions.
Members are invited to link
their own web sites to our site as well as the CIArb site. This can be achieved
on payment of a small annual fee of £10.00 +VAT– details of which can be
obtained from me.
Members’ details are also to be published.
Using the replies I received
from the membership, full details of
only those who returned the Directory Questionnaire will be published. For
those who did not return the form, only names and professions will be published
– exactly as contained within the Branch Handbook.
If you did not return the
questionnaire and want your full details published on the web site, return the
form now. If you’ve lost it, e-mail me and I’ll send you another one.
The Branch Committee has
replied in some detail to proposals from HQ. The first was the CIArb Strategic
Review, which proposed changes to the Branch structure, organisation and
responsibilities. The Second was the proposed new Branch Model Rules. The
Committee’s responses can be found on the Branch web site at www.CIArb-EM.org
THE BRANCH MEMBERS DIRECTORY - 2000
Replies and responses to the Enquiry Form have now been received and preparation of the New Branch Directory is in hand. The publication has been delayed whilst we completed the web site so as to ensure the information published was comparable. Now the web site has been published, the publication of the new Branch Handbook will proceed and be published shortly after the AGM – to reflect the changes anticipated.
EMAIL CIRCULATION.
Most committee papers,
communication with HQ and inter officer contact is now done by email. We would
like to extend this to communicate with members and to distribute the
Newsletter. Not only will this save costs but should ensure easier and quicker
communication.
If you have not already done so please let me have your email address.
Unless you advise otherwise this will only be used for circulation of Branch information
and the address will not be published.
Use the form attached and fax back to me or Send me your details by e-mail.

NOTE THE NEW EMAIL
ADDRESS
The Branch finances are in a healthy state with the balance standing at £5543.19 at the end of January. There will be expenditure as the funds contribute to the Annual Dinner and the AGM.. I cannot foresee any event other which is likely to substantially deplete this healthy situation. Your support however for the Dinner and the AGM will help.

the profile of the Institute both nationally and locally.
More Good News! We have been
provided with a list of key PR messages, for all of us to use when describing
the Institute a copy is attached to this report. Please read it and
use these messages whenever you can.
